If you're dreaming of an intimate wedding day surrounded by Hawaii’s natural beauty, Oʻahu offers some of the most stunning elopement landscapes you could imagine. All you need is your partner, an officiant, and a photographer. As a local elopement photographer, I’ve had the honor of capturing love stories across the island—and these six locations are my absolute favorites.

1. Kualoa Regional Park / Secret Island
Kualoa delivers one of the most iconic elopement location options on the island. With towering green mountains, calm water, and wide open space, it feels like you're in Jurassic Park (because, well… you are). You can even plan a post-ceremony picnic or intimate reception under the palms.
Best for: Epic backdrops, small group ceremonies, couples who want both mountains and water, and proximity to Honolulu (easy drive time!).

2. Halona Beach Cove (a.k.a. Eternity Beach)
A tucked-away gem near the Halona Blowhole, this cove is perfect for couples who want something cinematic and secluded. The lighting here is stunning, and it’s not uncommon to see surfers or the occasional sea turtle offshore. It’s a short hike down, but the views—and pictures—are worth it.
Best for: Hidden beach vibes, privacy, and couples who want a romantic, windswept setting with little travel required from town.

3. Waialua Valley Farm
For a completely unique option, check out Waialua Valley Farm on the North Shore Oʻahu is a lush and peaceful retreat. They host events up to 50 people. With tropical trees, mountain views, and that untamed garden energy, it’s a space that feels grounded and sacred. You can even plan an intimate reception with a private chef, surrounded by flowers and fresh air.
Best for: Nature lovers, privacy, couples with luxury-meets-rustic preferences, and the type of people looking for a stunning North Shore Oʻahu setting far from crowds.

4. Makapuʻu Beach + Lookout
Makapuʻu is a sunrise dream. Between the rugged cliffs, rolling waves, and panoramic ocean views, it’s no wonder it’s one of the most popular beaches for adventurous elopements. You can say your vows up top or hike down to the cove for something more intimate. The sun, ocean mist, and breeze hit just right in the early morning.
Best for: Couples with some hiking ability, sunrise lighting, elopements with ocean drama, and minimal logistics.
5. West Oʻahu: Paradise Cove Public Beach
Just past Ko Olina, this beach gives you palm trees, soft sand, and epic sunsets—all within a short drive time from resorts. It’s easy to access and offers enough space for a small group and a laid-back intimate reception on the beach (or just a celebratory picnic!).
Best for: Sunset ceremonies, couples staying nearby, and those wanting a relaxed west-side vibe with easy permit access. Family, friends and guests that might want to walk to their ceremony location.
6. North Shore: Kewala Beach Park (Near Turtle Bay)
If you’re staying near Turtle Bay, this is a perfect spot—quiet, scenic, and away from the hustle of the popular beaches. Kewala Beach blends soft sand, greenery, and calm water for that dreamy, naturally romantic vibe. And yes, it’s great for pictures.
Best for: Eloping near the resort, beach lovers, and those wanting to pair their ceremony with a little adventure—or a sunset dinner with a private chef.
Planning Your Oʻahu Elopement
Whether you’re planning a sunrise cliffside moment or a beachside vow exchange with your officiant, there are a few things to keep in mind to make your day stress-free and meaningful:
Permits: Most elopement locations on Oʻahu require a permit, so it's important to check the regulations and fill out the right forms ahead of time.
Timelines: I help couples plan out their timelines based on lighting, tides, and weather so you don’t have to guess.
Season: Summer tends to be sunnier and calmer, but every season offers something special—just keep in mind tides, heat, and crowd levels.
Dress & Prep: Flowy fabrics, floral crowns, and barefoot vows? I’m here for it. Don’t forget sunscreen, water, and something to carry your flowers!
Officiant: I can help you book an officiant that matches your vibe—laid-back, spiritual, or traditional. You’ll need one to make it official (unless you’re bringing your own).
Marriage License: Yes, you need one! You can read this post for the full step-by-step on how to get your marriage license in Hawaiʻi.
