How Much Does a Hawaii Elopement Cost? (Updated for 2025)

Updated: May 5

Let’s be real—big weddings aren’t for everyone. If the idea of tossing your bouquet in front of 200 guests makes you want to disappear into the jungle... good news: you totally can. 🌿

Eloping in Hawaii gives you all the wedding day magic, none of the madness. Picture this: salty air, golden hour, the love of your life, and zero stress. Now that’s a vibe.

But before you book your flights and floral leis—let’s talk numbers.

How much does it actually cost to elope in Hawaii? The answer: less than a traditional wedding, and worth every penny.

Let’s break down the elopement costs.

Average Cost of a Hawaii Elopement - these prices can be applied to vow renewals too!

Most couples spend anywhere between $3,000 and $12,000 on their Hawaii elopement. Your final cost really depends on how simple or elaborate you want to go.

Here’s a quick overview of what your elopement budgets might include:

You Can Keep It Simple… or Go All Out

The beauty is that you get to choose what matters most to you. Some couples just want a private ceremony with an epic view and stunning photos. Others want an adventure elopement, video coverage, and a sunset dinner on the beach. You can splurge on a luxury resort.

There’s no wrong way to do it. That's why I don't do standard all-inclusive elopement packages - I do customizable wedding packages so you can build your perfect elopement. And it doesn't cost as much as you might think!

Why Hawaiian Island Elopements Are So Worth It

Compared to a traditional wedding costs(which now averages $30,000+), a Hawaii elopement gives you:

  • A memorable experience and mini honeymoon in one

  • Breathtaking backdrops you don’t have to pay extra for

  • Freedom from wedding stress and guest list drama

  • Gorgeous photos to remember it all

And bonus: many of my couples say eloping in Hawaii ended up being the best decision they made—and it still felt incredibly meaningful. Who would be the right type of person to elope in Hawaii? People that want to spend their money on experiences.

What Actually Affects the Cost of Your Hawaii Elopement?

No two ceremonies are the same—and that’s the beauty of it. Whether you're dreaming of a simple ceremony on of Hawaii's amazing beaches or an all-out experience with a helicopter ride to a mountaintop, your elopement cost depends on a few key things:

1. Location, Location, Location

Some ceremony locations just need a simple permit, while others require a little more coordination (think: private venues, boats, or remote trails). Oahu tends to be more accessible (and budget-friendly) than some of the other islands.

2. Professional Photographer & Videograper

Your elopement photos are one of the only things you take with you after the day ends—so most couples invest a good portion of their budget here. Coverage can range from a quick hour to a full-day storytelling experience. (P.S. I offer both!)

3. Guest Count

Adding to the guest list might mean extra coordination, seating, florals, larger food budget, more guest accommodations or even permits depending on the location. All of this can add to the elopement costs.

4. Extras & Experiences

Want to do a waterfall hike? Charter a catamaran? Hire a Ukulele Player? End the day with a picnic on a beautiful beach location? These special touches add to the experience and the budget—but they’re often what make your day unforgettable.

5. Time of Year

Peak season (typically mid-December through April) can impact everything from flight prices to vendor availability. Eloping in the off-season or on a weekday can help you save a little extra. Keep in mind the off season is also the rainy season though.

TL;DR? You’re in Control.
